Compensation Disclosure & Commercial Transparency
Cloud 9 Advisers operates on a foundation of uncompromising transparency and client advocacy.
We believe business leaders and IT executives deserve complete visibility into how technology advisory firms are compensated. This document outlines our fee structure, revenue sources, and the structural guardrails we maintain to guarantee objective, vendor-neutral representation.
1. Primary Compensation Model: Sourcing & Procurement
For strategic technology sourcing projects (Cybersecurity, Cloud Infrastructure, Connectivity, and Unified Communications), Cloud 9 Advisers acts as your buyer-side technology advocate and outsourced procurement team.
The Technology Services Distributor (TSD) Firewall
In nearly all sourcing engagements, Cloud 9 Advisers does not receive direct payments or incentive checks from technology suppliers. Instead, our compensation is managed through independent Technology Services Distributors (TSDs).
This structure establishes an essential operational firewall:
- Standardized Rates: Our distributor contracts standardize commission schedules across competing suppliers in each category. We are compensated at predetermined, flat rates regardless of which supplier you select.
- Impartiality: A supplier cannot offer our firm a "bonus" or higher commission tier to sway our evaluation.
- Outcome Alignment: Because our compensation remains neutral across competing solutions, our evaluations are dictated strictly by your business objectives, architectural fit, total cost of ownership (TCO), and technical merit.
Decision Authority
Cloud 9 Advisers does not make unilateral product selections. We provide structured market research, financial comparisons, and curated shortlists from our portfolio of over 500 vetted enterprise suppliers. You and your leadership team retain total authority over the final provider selection.
2. Direct Supplier Engagements (Exception Clause)
In limited circumstances, an organization's specific technical or geographical requirements necessitate evaluating a specialized or local provider that does not participate in the national distributor network.
If a direct supplier is introduced and ultimately selected for contract award, Cloud 9 Advisers may receive compensation directly from that provider. In every such case, we provide full, advance written disclosure of the commercial arrangement before contract execution to maintain total transparency.
3. Advisory & Fee-Based Consulting Engagements
When clients require high-level governance, strategic roadmapping, or assistance outside our standard supplier portfolio, services are delivered through our professional consulting segment:
- Fractional CITSO (Chief Information, Technology, and Security Officer): Retainer-based executive leadership providing ongoing budget governance, compliance alignment, and IT roadmapping.
- Technology Readiness Evaluations: Objective, fixed-fee pre-assessments (Cybersecurity, AI, Cloud, and CX) delivering empirical gap data before capital expenditure.
- Google Workspace Optimization (Super Admin as a Service): Ongoing administrative governance, AI integration, and workflow automation.
- Out-of-Portfolio Procurement: If your organization requires sourcing a highly niche vendor operating outside our compensated supplier network, we transition the engagement to our transparent, fee-for-service consulting model. This guarantees that your team receives uncompromised advisory regardless of vendor commercial models.
4. Supplementary Compensation & Industry Participation
To provide comprehensive lifecycle advocacy at no direct procurement cost to clients, Cloud 9 Advisers may receive the following:
- Recurring Distributor Commissions: Ongoing compensation paid by distributors based on active client billing for installed services. This model funds our lifetime account management, bill audits, and direct executive escalation support ("The Batphone").
- Contingent Performance Programs: Volume-based compensation tiers administered across our aggregate portfolio by distributors at the end of a fiscal cycle. These programs reflect cumulative portfolio volume across all clients and are never tied to individual client recommendations or single transactions.
- Educational Forums and Industry Councils: Our advisers participate in technical symposiums, advisory councils, and market briefings hosted by distributors and suppliers. These engagements ensure our team remains informed on emerging architectures, regulatory shifts, and technical capabilities. Participation in educational forums does not affect our vendor-neutral evaluation standards.
5. Intermediaries and Technical Bench
To support complex multi-site deployments, Cloud 9 Advisers may collaborate with specialized intermediaries, including solutions architects, service aggregators, and technical project engineers. These specialists provide vendor-neutral engineering, design validation, and implementation support to ensure projects deploy on schedule and within budget.
